REVERSE MORGAGE NIGHTMARE

Hello Bloggers, I've been off for awhile. Im asking for prayers. The past 13 months have been a nightmare. I got to vent for minute please.I had my name on the house for five years, then .I took it off in 2006 so my Dad could do a reverse morgage. Then when he passed away. I didnt have the chance to get my name back on the house.(The house that my Mom built with her hands in 1974. )So when Dad passsed I had to get an attorney.$5,0000 And then all the paper work.Had to put the house and belongings thru probate. It came back Medical said $0 I was so greatful.Got a loan to pay back reverse.Even took a picture of me in front of the house celebrating the Victory...And all of a sudden Medical shows up saying now they found a bill. I have to pay $68,000 for my parents medical bills. How in the world can I pay the reverse, the lawyer and now medical bills. When my dad had Secure Horizon, that should of covered his medical expensives, Please Pray that something good comes thru this.I need God to really help me out, I cant lose my :Home: I will keep you all posted. So if you know anything that will help me,Please let me know.
Blogging off for now

  2. I am praying it is a mistake on their part! You would of thought bills would have been coming in all the while on those charges, late notices, etc. It does not make sense! I pray God will go before you in this challenge and pave the way to victory! God Bless!

  3. you ought to be able to show them that they told you that you had a zero balance before and that if you do indeed owe money it was thier error in telling you different...doesn't sound right to me...

  4. Wow, John I thought that had been settled. I have no idea what kind of ins. he has but if it was like many seniors have liker ours. We have a co-pay on everything, drugs, Dr. visits and so forth. If it was another type of insurance I don't know how that would work. He would have had to pay part of it but the amount you mentioned is truly outrageous. My son in law has just been diagnosed with colon cancer and is scheduled for Sept 17. He is covered under a group plan at Lincoln Electric where he works, but my daughter said they would wind up payig over 2,000.00 out of their pocket. My advice is to get the lawyer back.

  5. Oh John, what a worry for you. I will hold you in prayer. It does not sound right to me, they told you nothing owed and then come up with this and not for your but for your parents. I only know that over here, when a person dies, their debts die with them. I wish there was something I could do. But you need to get advice, explain you were told everything was in order and what has happened since. There is no way you can lose your home, I will pray very hard that all will be well.

  6. Why are you responsible for the bills? The estate should have paid and if there's no money left in the estate, how can they make you pay?? That's just not right.

    Keeping you in my prayers.

  7. That's our government..ready to sqeeze money out of even a person that is gone and buried. You may have to let their house go to be free of the debt.Whatever it sells for will go to whatever agencies he used, to re-pay them. But then, if it does not cover it all, I would think it's their loss-not your debt.We shouldn't have to be responsible for debts we didn't make ourselves.Oh,I only hope all turns out well. Will say prayers.

  8. I'll pray that all turns out well. Doesn't seem like they could come back and say you owe so much when they had already told you there was a zero balance. Also I would find out why it wasn't paid by his health insurance. Good luck, Sheila

  9. Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. (Psalm 37, helped me many times, pray to do same for you.)

  11. My best guess is that you are going to have to get your lawyer back. Perhaps a letter fom him to the billing company might be all you need. If not & you don't have his fee, perhaps he will let you pay him out. He knows you will pay him. Good luck and prayers to you and yours.
