Well I got the news today, After 13 months of paper work in and grieving the loss of my Dad. The papers came yesterday and the calls today. You have 60 days to be out, you are an unlawful detainer. The house your living in sold Oct 20th,I had gotten the loan. I got the attorney Mayhem Ford, I filed and faxed. did everything I needed to do. And now they tell me under FHA policy I have to move 30 years of my parents stuff and empty out the house. So they can take a picture of the house empty. They tell me with such compassion. I almost believe them.Someone's been lying to me. I am going to court Feb 19th and present my case. I've been so sick with ulcers and H pylori This is the home that my Dad and Mom built with their bare hands, My Dad lived in less then two years. He was building it while battling lung cancer, None of us knew he was sick.( Not even Mom). This is the house where every holiday was spent. Many Christmas's and Thanksgiving dinners with Friends and Family....
Oh no, that is really a huge mess. Our prayers will be with you and your family!
ReplyDeleteI am praying it is a mistake on their part! You would of thought bills would have been coming in all the while on those charges, late notices, etc. It does not make sense! I pray God will go before you in this challenge and pave the way to victory! God Bless!
ReplyDeleteyou ought to be able to show them that they told you that you had a zero balance before and that if you do indeed owe money it was thier error in telling you different...doesn't sound right to me...
ReplyDeleteWow, John I thought that had been settled. I have no idea what kind of ins. he has but if it was like many seniors have liker ours. We have a co-pay on everything, drugs, Dr. visits and so forth. If it was another type of insurance I don't know how that would work. He would have had to pay part of it but the amount you mentioned is truly outrageous. My son in law has just been diagnosed with colon cancer and is scheduled for Sept 17. He is covered under a group plan at Lincoln Electric where he works, but my daughter said they would wind up payig over 2,000.00 out of their pocket. My advice is to get the lawyer back.
ReplyDeleteOh John, what a worry for you. I will hold you in prayer. It does not sound right to me, they told you nothing owed and then come up with this and not for your but for your parents. I only know that over here, when a person dies, their debts die with them. I wish there was something I could do. But you need to get advice, explain you were told everything was in order and what has happened since. There is no way you can lose your home, I will pray very hard that all will be well.
ReplyDeleteWhy are you responsible for the bills? The estate should have paid and if there's no money left in the estate, how can they make you pay?? That's just not right.
ReplyDeleteKeeping you in my prayers.
That's our government..ready to sqeeze money out of even a person that is gone and buried. You may have to let their house go to be free of the debt.Whatever it sells for will go to whatever agencies he used, to re-pay them. But then, if it does not cover it all, I would think it's their loss-not your debt.We shouldn't have to be responsible for debts we didn't make ourselves.Oh,I only hope all turns out well. Will say prayers.
ReplyDeleteI'll pray that all turns out well. Doesn't seem like they could come back and say you owe so much when they had already told you there was a zero balance. Also I would find out why it wasn't paid by his health insurance. Good luck, Sheila
ReplyDeleteTrust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
ReplyDeleteDelight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. (Psalm 37, helped me many times, pray to do same for you.)
prayers are with you sweetie....Id still check with the lawyer again tho.

My best guess is that you are going to have to get your lawyer back. Perhaps a letter fom him to the billing company might be all you need. If not & you don't have his fee, perhaps he will let you pay him out. He knows you will pay him. Good luck and prayers to you and yours.
