Thought Id share a few pictures from our Bible School activity.I feel so blessed to be a part of our Community kids outreach ministry. It was a lot of work, but so worth it. We decided to have an out door activity where the kids could play and have fun in a safe environment. They sure did, they laughed and ran around getting each other wet. Hello its been awhile, Life has been busy, California has had some crazy rain & snow recently.We no longer are in a drought.After three years of not seeing drop of rain  we finally have steady rain and abundance of rain. For that I'm am gratful. Now my concern turns to the homeless people out in the cold wet nights.(Keep them warm Lord).The picture above is of my Pastor and close friend of 25 + years.He is Citizen of the year.I was so happy that he won. 2016 was challenging for him, he suffered a heart attack Oct 2nd while preaching at a friends Church.He had two stints put in and is recovering. We never really knw what life is going to throw our way we need to always make time for our Family and our friends. Put the cell phone down at dinner and have face to face conversation live in real time and laugh a lot with dear friends. I will close here for now and will try to blog more. We live in a time where everyone is obsessed with staying connected, We post photos of our food,We feel the need to let people know we are waiting in line at  the DMV,Addicted to  emojies(putting a smilies face at the end of a text.)We can video,take a picture, type a letter,order food, listen to music  watch a movie,And see photos  of a strangers trip to bora bora..all with our dell phones.Yet we can't make eye contact  when standing next to someone,  we automatically pull out our phones and eyes shift down and there is silence.We are losing out ability  to have a conversation. No need to take the time to dial a number and carry on a conversation  we can just text and Multi-task.We need to wake up people before human conversation  becomes extinct. The title says it all.I weigh in at 204lbs Put back on ten pounds of the 25 I lost Doctor put me on a diet to lower colesterol).There is no excuse as to why I went on a snack binge.Life has been stressful lately.....July 17th I took my Sister to the emergency room she was very sick.Her vision was in and out.She couldnt stand up.She bacame very confused.The hospital ran alot of tests. The Doctor said her liver was inflamed.Sis had been sneaking alcohol again, after 3 years sober she relapsed.The doctor told me."I am going to put it blunt to you, Your probably going to lose your Sister"I prayed God help her , to help herself, Give us strength to get through this difficult time.Having lost three siblings you become numb, scared . A Minister and his wife from my Church came up to the hospital and prayed for my Sister.The next morning I walked into her she was awake and sitting up having lunch and talking, her confusion about 80% gone.I was so happy..... Hello my blogger friends, sorry for not writing in a while.For the most part Life has been good.Let me go back a little.In March a long time friend from Church lost her battle to cancer. She was only 46. A Mother of three and leaving behind a husband who was her High School sweetheart.It was very difficul to see the Family at Church mourning a great loss.  I can say that Irene kept her Faith til the end.She always believed God would heal her from cancer.  HE DID..... just not in a physical way.He gave her a new body and I believe without a doubt shes walking on streets of Gold in Heaven.                            I titled this blog to say this..."It shouldnt take a Funeral to have a Reunion" At the funeral I ran into A Mother and daughter who have been long time friends of mine.We attended the same Church for over 15 years.We worked on the Newsletter together and did Childrens Ministry together.But when...

Well it has been awhile since I blogged. Let me back track. November 13th I had dental work done.I had to have several teeth extracted.I was awake through the procedure.I did alot of praying.Ive been needing this done for several years.My dental insurance finally approved it.It was very painful.I had to have several teeth capped or replaced and they did a great job,.Me being only 48 is young but I had to have several teeth worked on . The follow days were very difficult I was in a lot of pain. It was very challenging. I wanted to have my dental work done in time for a big family weekend for Christmas.I had a hard time with the pain at first. It took me an hour to eat a plate of food.Over time and determination I finally began to heal..And now I feel much better about my appearance and learned how to smile.Thank God for helping me through this.                        Also I've been helping my co worker care for her husband he...

Call an Elderly friend today As most of you know I work with the elderly.Almost 30 years now.Yesterday I was at work and I was reading the in house newsletter "Chatter Box" and I came across a name I regonized, Littlejohn.The lady I worked for was florence and her husband was Lawerence,this was back in 1995.Curiosity got the best of me so I went down the hall and knocked on her door,"Who is it?"a woman asked(not opening the door)"Hi Im John,By chance do you know Lawernce Florence Littlejohn? Her voice was a little weak"Im Florence!!!" "Florence its me John,I took care of your husband years ago" I heard the door and  unlock and there stood Florence Littlejohn,She looked the same,just a little older she stood 4 feet tall,"Oh my my come in,I remember you,Your the only one my Lawerence liked and didnt fire,You stayed three days so I could attend my neices wedding and that was back in 1995"Wow, her memory of me was sharp,It made...

This is a story about defying the odds,overcoming obstacles and not holding back,This is Linda and Greg they met at "The Estates,Greg was on a kidney donor list over five years,He became very sick while waiting for a kidney.He finally received his new kidney, there were many complications and he got worse,While recovering on bed rest someone stole his  truck.(The police never found it) during all this he became good friends with Linda(another resident),she too has health problems,despite the odds against them they fell in love and got married.The Estates gave them a weddingreception. Cake,decorations,a pianiast the works!!!Greg and Linda were very happy as were the Residents.The line to welcome the Bride&Groom consisted of hover rounds,walkers and wheelchairs.Smiles on every face.For an hour everyone was able to forget there aches, pains and heartaches.Greg is doing great health wise and Linda couldnt be happier. What a Blessed Event!!!!

My great neice Grace was assigned to send send "Flat Stanley 'to a relative in another State,Someone who was reliable to follow thru with the homework assignment a responsable relative.Naturally my Neice thought of me,after all I am the responsable one in our family.....right!!!!!WRONG. Flat Stanley is a little cutout paperboy representing Literacy in America.(google him) after he arrived at my house from Oklahoma all I had to do was take a few pictures with "flat Stanley" and write about my home town,Simple Right!!!!Wrong.My Neice did agreat job coloring him his hair and eyes were the same as mine.On the back her name written in marker by her Teacher(great forgery)and then her Teacher lamenated him.  I decided I better get the assignment done and mail him  back..So she could get a good grade.Couldnt find the letter with instructions or "Flat Stanley" anywhere.My one and only day off from work I searched three hours at my house thru my paperwork.Loser ...

This morning at work I was assisting a client with Physical therapy,We were walking down the hall. Night shift manager Betty was walking a small dog (reminds me of Toto from The Wizard of Oz) his name is Biscuit, happy to be out and walking. Betty was telling us that Biscuits Daddy Wendell is in the hospital he fell at home, He should be back home in a few days. and she wanted to make sure the dog was walked.Betty has a master key to every apartment, she is in charge at night to answer all emergency calls, close blinds lock the lobby doors Ect. She has lived at "The Estates about nine years and loves her job. She was talking up a storm as she unlocked the door and took Biscuit inside. Frances(my client) and I continued our P/T a few seconds later Betty returned with the dog, She said"Opps wrong apartment Im suppose to be on the second floor,"  She was a little embarrassed. Nephew Eric 3 months old(now he's 35 Saturday Oct 18th 2014 Afternoon Bloggers, Thursday was a sunny day here in California (year 3 of a drought)I decided to organize my Christmas boxes in my garage to be ready for  December.I was moving boxes around while Nugg was playing in the corner with her shadow.Behind the stack of plastic tubs hidden in the back sat an old dusty tub.I pulled it out dusted it off, opened the lid.Inside was old newspapers that had turned yellow over time.I pulled up a chair sat down and began to unwrap the newspapers.I couldnt believe my eyes,Stuff I hadnt seen in thirty years.I found pictures of my Family,Hand written letter's my Mom Tiny(from her Grandchildren) had kept.My 6th grade "First place" award for triple jump.My one and only first place ever lol,WOW Mom kept everything.It was as if I was transported back in time,A time where my Family was alive and happy.Many memories came  back to me,I grabbed my phone and began to take pict...

I know I blog a lot about the people from "The Estates" but they never seize to amaze me .Y esterday I was assisting Sarah (my 90 year old client) and she wanted to meet her new neighbor. So we knocked on her door "Come in, its open"was the reply. there sat on a beautiful antique couch was a petite elderly Woman, Her son had been moving her all day.Her furniture was very nice, white marble coffee table with matching end tables. In the corner was a big round brown antique table.( I love antiques) .But what caught my attention was she had a flat screen tv and in her lap was a Tablet.Yup a T ablet, Here sat this 94 year old lady surrounded with reminders of the good ol day.She glanced up from her Tablet and introduced herself as Edith a widow who decided it was time to leave her big empty home and get an apartment at the assisted living place.                        ...

Fall is here, you wouldn't know it by our weather in California.We are in the 80's and 90's.We need rain.                                 October is also my birthday month. I will be 49.My body is starting to feel it to lol I know some of you are in your 70's and say wait til you get to be my age.This past week I've been down with my back.I hurt it lifting at work. It is painful and makes it hard to sleep, I got me to thinking about all those people with chronic back pain.My prayers go out to them. The fire is spreading East and 80,000 acres burned so far its 10% contained.
