Afternoon Bloggers,
Thursday was a sunny day here in California (year 3 of a drought)I decided to organize my Christmas boxes in my garage to be ready for  December.I was moving boxes around while Nugg was playing in the corner with her shadow.Behind the stack of plastic tubs hidden in the back sat an old dusty tub.I pulled it out dusted it off, opened the lid.Inside was old newspapers that had turned yellow over time.I pulled up a chair sat down and began to unwrap the newspapers.I couldnt believe my eyes,Stuff I hadnt seen in thirty years.I found pictures of my Family,Hand written letter's my Mom Tiny(from her Grandchildren) had kept.My 6th grade "First place" award for triple jump.My one and only first place ever lol,WOW Mom kept everything. It was as if I was transported back in time,A time where my Family was alive and happy. Many memories came  back to me,I grabbed my phone and began to take pictures of the items I was finding.Within 30 minutes I had seven Neices and Nephews texting me from.all over and we began to remenisce back and forth. Each one asking if they could have their stuff Grandma saved.I decided I would make each one a package for Christmas and send them to them. In return they must send me a hand written Christmas card(not a tex message)  with a picture of their kids so I can do a Family tree. For me Christmas came early.....Finding this box in my garage is a Blessing,

READ ANY GOOD TABLETS LATLEY?

I know I blog a lot about the people from "The Estates" but they never seize to amaze me.Yesterday I was assisting Sarah (my 90 year old client)and she wanted to meet her new neighbor. So we knocked on her door "Come in, its open"was the reply. there sat on a beautiful antique couch was a petite elderly Woman, Her son had been moving her all day.Her furniture was very nice, white marble coffee table with matching end tables. In the corner was a big round brown antique table.(I love antiques). But what caught my attention was she had a flat screen tv and in her lap was a Tablet.Yup a Tablet, Here sat this 94 year old lady surrounded with reminders of the good ol day.She glanced up from her Tablet and introduced herself as Edith a widow who decided it was time to leave her big empty home and get an apartment at the assisted living place.
My client Sarah can come across as very forward, She began to ask Edith several questions, cutting her off each time. After a few minutes she decided we needed to get back to her apartment. Welcomed Edith to "The Estates"and strolled out on her hoveraround.Back home she tells me I just wanted to get a feel of her.If she was going to blast her tv late at night and keep me awake (8pm is late) And with smirk "I also wanted to see her furniture"
      Love my job.

MY BACK GOES OUT MORE THEN I DO

Fall is here, you wouldn't know it by our weather in California. We are in the 80's and 90's.We need rain.
October is also my birthday month. I will be 49.My body is starting to feel it to lol I know some of you are in your 70's and say wait til you get to be my age. This past week I've been down with my back.I hurt it lifting at work. It is painful and makes it hard to sleep, I got me to thinking about all those people with chronic back pain.My prayers go out to them. The constant pain makes it hard to sleep or lift or walk.
On a happier note, my clients daughter Blessed me with a Samsung notebook tablet. What a Blessing. She said that I deserved it for giving such great care to her Mom.Her Mom is 90 yearsShes very sharp. She gets along pretty good considering she has polymiositis (affects every muscle in your body. Shes had it over 20 years and it is now starting to slow her down. She uses a walker and I follow behind her with a stoll so she can sit every few feet and regain her strength. This is just a quick update.
Have a Blessed Day
John
You know your getting old when
Your back goes out more then you do.
You and your teeth sleep in separate rooms
When you pick up the TV remote to make a phone call
You go to the mail box to mail a letter
And open it instead.
Looking for your glasses and there on top of your head
